Shouldn't I be able to.......

count grocery shopping with a toddler and a 10 month old as my cardio workout today???? Inevitably Belle always wants out of the cart half way through our shopping excursion. Then she wants to run away, so I have to run after her, or she wants to push the cart herself. Rose lost a shoe on some Isle.....and had to go find it....and of course she loves to turn around in her seat and pick up all the groceries! It is quite an expedition going to the store. I have to emotionally gear up for it from the beginning of the week! Also I am wondering if any of you moms out there know how to get a two year old out of the car that doesn't want to? Weird. I think I remember Spencer doing this, but I had a much smaller car, and it was much easier to get him out!

Just a side note I am so excited that my grocery store is carrying Winder dairy products....but on a sad note.....I could not find the new hostess cupcakes that are only 1 weight watcher point.....which of course was the main reason for going to the grocery store anyway.

I just had to record these pictures of Belle. She is a hoot watching her dance and act out the "Backyardagins" show.

my blankie sucking baby

I have had finger sucking, thumb sucking but never a baby that liked to suck on a blanket. Seriously the thing gets soaking wet! Well, at least she has something, right?

A cold blustery day!

A cold Spring day! Belle was the only one up to going out in the snow, and she only lasted about 5 minutes. Spencer is still sick, and Rose was taking a nap when we took these pictures.

Just a routine day

Today was a busy rainy day. Belle said she just wanted to sleep. Rose wanted to play in the fort behind the couch. Spencer was not feeling well, so played his games, and stayed home from school!

I went to the surgeons today for a routine follow up exam. I have lost 41 pounds since December 7th! Not bad. I have a long way to go, and I am very brave for putting this picture on the blog....but I want to see my own progress. Here is my current weight...239. Current fill is at 2.4 cc's.

ps....Rose learned how to climb down the stairs.

You can't tell by the pictures that these are the stairs in my house, Rose has taught herself to go down the stairs....maybe in a few months I can get rid of the gates......yeah!!!!

Where did my sweet angel baby go!

Sometimes I don't think I know who this little girl is anymore! Somehow overnight she became the "the girl with the curl in the middle of her forhead.....and when she was good she was very very good, but when she was bad she was HORRID". My sweet little angel that would say I love you mama, but now her favorite words are no I won't, and I do it. Today my favorite saying was, "Yes your highness" complete with a bow. Okay I think we have an actress in the house! Sometimes I feel like an alien abducted my precious child and replaced her with a total stranger. Sometimes I wish that sweet little girl was still with us, but I know that she has to grow up eventually, and it is really happening. It is so hard knowing the lessons she will have to learn, and hoping I am up to the task. The world we live in can be so scary, and having to talk to her about being kidnapped so she won't run away from me in the store is just a hard thing to do. Today she saw a car wreck on the news, she was so upset, and cried, she kept saying she wanted her car seat right now because she wasn't safe. Right now I can keep her safe, as well all as all of my kids, but eventually they will have to keep themselves safe, and I hope that I teach them well. I get a little overwhelmed thinking about the future.....but for right now I guess all I have to worry about is temper tantrums and time outs!

April Showers bring May flowers....or March showers bring April flowers!

Don't kids just love umbrellas?? We loved the spring showers we had yesterday, and we loved taking off a day from the yard work! This bush is in our back yard, and one night it was just bare sticks and miraculously the next morning it was all in full bloom! The girls sure do love having their daddy home for his week off! (we all do!)

update on yard progress

Okay, we worked all day yesterday, and we got it all cleared out. Next step is take the shrubs and garbage to the dump!

how do these toddlers ever survive!

Rose is such a climber, I am so afraid someday we will be at the emergency room with her! She loves this window in our dining room, and is always trying to find a way to get up there and see the world.....whats a mother to do! She isn't even ten months until the 22nd.

progress so far

Well here is the progress so far. We got about half way done. The pile of shrubs is getting higher and higher. There is a huge pine tree, that is covered in ivy. I used to love ivy, I always thought it was so lush and beautiful, so smart looking really. Obiviously I had never had to dig it up. It is a horrible horrible weed, and made the job even harder! We still have to get the ivy off of the tree trunk. The back part of the bed is even worse than the front because there is so much undergrowth and years and years of dropped needles! I think we can get it cleared in about two more days. Allen came home in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday, and was very surprised. He said he had someone coming out on Monday to give us an estimate on clearing out this area! Ha....don't need them now! Allen helped for the rest of the day, and Spencer has been a big help, and well Belle and Rose....I guess they are there for our entertainment. In hindsight I should have taken a picture from the sidewalk, I was so amazed at the growth on the side walk.....it covered half the sidewalk! Ivy, shrubs and pine needles so thick it took hedge shears to get through it all!

Summer project!

Well this is my summer project. This is a small area of our front yard. It is extremely overgrown, and has all those low lying juniper shrubs popular in the 70's. I don't like them! So I am going to rip every single one out and clear out all the land underneath and plant some shade/part shade plants. Big project, but I know I can do it....may take me a while, but when it is done it will look great! I am going to keep posting pictures so I can visually see my progress, and I think that will keep me motivated! Wish me luck!

Bed Head

The one thing that I can count on every morning when I wake up is Belle's bed head that just makes me laugh.....and my 9 almost 10 month olds antics. They sure make the morning for me since I am not a morning person! They make it worth getting up at 6:00 or 7:00 am! I sure do love you girls!

Deltora Quest!

It is so fun when your kids get to an age that you can start sharing things together. Allen found this worn out copy of Deltora Quest at the library in the for sale section. (he thought Spencer might like it, I was busy looking at the books for girls!) Anyway, Spencer read it in about a day and was so excited he kept saying, "mom you got to read this book". I kept telling him I would and the book sat on my nightstand all weekend. Finally Spencer said, "mom you got to read this book so we can talk about it!". Well that did it for me. I thought I would read the book whether I liked it or not. Well, I read it in about a day as well, and really enjoyed it. We found out that this was not the only book, but there are about fifteen more in a series....so now we have a new series of books to occupy our time until Harry Potter comes out! We are having lots of fun discussing the books!

How we love Spring time!

Spring is such a great time of year for us Utahns. The sun is finally out, the bulbs are pushing up, and the best part....no snow!!!!! We had to get out in the nice weather, and for Rose her first time feeling grass. We didn't even need sweaters, wow!
Today we signed Isabelle up for Montessori of Riverton, for the fall. She is really excited about it. She did not want to leave the school. When we were in the car heading for home, I asked her what she thought of the school, she said, "Fun!" I am hoping she will still think it is fun in a few months. I can't believe my baby is going to be three! They grow up so fast.
Well, for all of you in cold climates.....appreciate this nice weather!

I caved to the pressure

Well I decided to try this out since my sister said it was so easy, and would only take about five minutes.....well five hours later, I think I like what I have done!

I am excited about being able to communicate with family that is far away, and keeping them abreast of all the exciting times in our little family's life.

Spencer is enjoying Rose....he loves them as babies.....then when they get to Belle's age, well as he says, "she is bugging me mom"! Spencer is busy reading lots of books for money for Cousin Camp, and also writing a book. I have read it and am quite impressed, we just might have an author in the family. Spencer is busy with scouts and he had his first sleep over, and stayed up all night playing video games with his friends.

Belle is precocious as ever. After she had cried to go to school with Spencer every morning this week, I decided to ask her if she would like to go to school in the fall, she was so excited she ran to me, hugged me and told me what a lucky girl she is! She is having a very hard time sharing her toys with Rose, as well as sharing Rose's toys with Rose.....we are working on it.

Rose keeps us one our toes, she is into every cabinet, every toilet and paper roll, and anything else we don't want her to get into. She took her first steps last week. For the big news....she is finally sprouting her first tooth! At nine months, my oldest baby to get a tooth! I was getting worried I would have a seven year old with dentures.

Well hope all enjoy that come to read and see our pictures. This is also a great record to be able to record our own family history! Thanks for stopping by.
