We are back.....barely

I am not sure when I will fully regain my sanity and sleep deprivation from our flight home. We went from the high stress situation of almost missing a flight to a two hour delay....I didn't know that my body could actually sustain such high stress without going into the fight or flight syndrome. At one point when Allen had to check our baggage in again in Honolulu, then meet us at the gate for the trip to the mainland, I really thought that he was going to lose it. I could see the headlines in the news...."desperate father arrested after breakdown at security gate trying to get to family", or, " missing man found in mental hospital due to airline stress", or, "desperate mother left penniless at gate 14 in Honolulu airport. Okay, we really are alright except for the sleep deprivation. We left Kauai at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, and arrived home in our driveway at 12:00 pm Wednesday! We learned many things about what NOT to do traveling with children. The only good thing is that Rose has been sleeping a WHOLE lot, and I have already gotten unpacked! I will get some pictures up soon! Hope everybody had a great week, we really did have a wonderful time in Hawaii....thanks mom and dad!

Your headlines cracked me up! I'm glad you didn't have to use any of them. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Glad you made it back in 1 piece, sort of..... I know traveling with children of any age is a challenge - moms always end up holding everything and get heads on laps and shoulders despite being tired and hot, too.... but it is so wonderful to make memories with our families - even if we laugh at the stress of it all

noon? OK sounds pretty bad!! Loved the headlines...they could make some great titles to books. One of my headlines would be " family of 7 detained by TSA due to barbie laptop!" OOO ya gotta watch those barbie laptops! I was truly ready to smack those little men with their plastic gloves, bomb detection devices and the barbie laptop! What in the world has our world come to?

That does sound like you had a stressfull flight! Very funny headlines. Can't wait to see the photos!!

Traveling with children is definetly a challange, and such a long flight at that.

great headlines! i have to say that i can't complain much about our flights - compared to everyone else, they were pretty painless, aside from the normal stresses of getting through security & sitting on the plane with a one-year-old for six hours. I agree w/ you Janae - it's a shame our world has come to what it has - you really feel it when you try to get on an airplane. In Honolulu they made me take off Ben's little sandals - now I ask you - what kind of explosive device could I hide in Ben's size 3 baby sandals?
